Description
Be part of the reforestation of this unique island in the Hauraki Gulf (between Kawau Island and Whangaparaoa). The Motuora Restoration Society and the Department of Conservation work together to manage the recreation reserve. Two thirds of the island have so far been covered with plants and help is needed to get 22,000 trees into the ground this season. This is an exciting time for the island since the canopy has reached a stage where bird and lizard translocations have begun.
A large part of the island has already been planted but there is always work to be done including the 10,000 trees which need to be planted this season.
