Description

Adrienne Grace, tutor of Children of the Green Earth has planted this native forest resotration with children as the tree-planters, and manages some of the weeding of the entrance area to Glenfield Coastal Walkway. Adrienne also welcomes assistance at another site in Birkenhead, on the edge of Le Roys bush. Volunteers are welcome to contact Adrienne if they can assist with weeding to maintain the childrens work. Adrienne uses ecological weeding techniques as much as possible which includes mulching the weeds and removing weed seeds, to enhance the facility of the soil and so strenghen the young trees. Adrienne has a wealth of experience of ecology and offers an interesting sharing in a pleasant bush stream environment.

What to bring: Would be helpful if volunteers could bring there own equipment; Spades, gloves and weeding tools. If you have not got your own tools, Andrienne can asssit.
