Encompassing a fifth of the Zoo's 17ha footprint, Te Wao Nui offers both locals and tourists a truly unique and immersive experience of New Zealand's animals, plants and culture in a way that has never been done before, all in one location at Auckland Zoo.
The goal of the Te Wao Nui Volunteer programme is to build understanding and knowledge of New Zealand native fauna and the conservation work undertaken by Auckland Zoo and to inform, engage and empower visitors into action.
Skills required
Anyone who is 18 years or over and has a passion for the conservation of New Zealand native fauna, a desire to learn and share knowledge with visitors and confident speaking skills. Must be able to work independently and meet our Health and Safety requirments.
